The print of the sleeping chap is mounted on board and with transpaseal laid over the whole print the figure and bed is cut round and the dark background transpaseal is peeled away. Black photo dye is washed in the background. The binoculars contrast is enhanced slightly with black photo dye before being cut out. Cut through the emulsion and the edges torn away from the back. The edges then sanded with flour paper and the edges blackened with Lamp Black and mounted in position with Columbia Cement.
